help build
the magic
A community crew application for the cooks, counsellors, artists, firekeepers, fixers, first responders and background superheroes who want to help turn Camp Pagweak into one very alive little village.
Passion project, clearly named
This is an unpaid community crew exchange for a one-time camp passion project. It is not being offered as a paid job, and there is no wage or honorarium.
care, skill and follow-through
You join the planning process, attend role training in Moncton, arrive ready for your scheduled responsibilities, communicate early and help the whole crew work collaboratively.
camp is covered
Shared bunk accommodations, all meals, crew training and access to camp programming, evening gatherings and activities whenever you are off duty.
a real role and real rest
You will know what you are responsible for before camp. “Volunteer” does not mean being endlessly on call. Each role will have defined work windows and genuine time to enjoy camp.
Andie will review applications, have a fit conversation where needed, and confirm each placement, role and expectations in writing. Exact training dates and shift blocks will be shared before you accept. A crew application is not a camper ticket, and applying does not guarantee placement.
We train together before we camp together
The crew is part of the experience, not a service team hiding behind it. Before September, we will meet in Moncton for planning and training so everyone understands the camp rhythm, communication channels, safety plans and how to lead with warmth.
learn the camp language
Cabin leaders learn campfire songs, simple games, transitions, camper check-ins and how the daily rhythm works.
trauma-informed, still playful
We lead through clarity, consent and choice. We can be silly without humiliating people, direct without becoming harsh, and organized without becoming rigid.
family setting first
This is a fully sober, family-centred camp. It is not a party job with a bunk attached. Children, safety, connection and community care shape the tone.
collaboration over heroics
Ask for help early. Share information. Take breaks. No one earns a camp badge for silently drowning while carrying twelve grocery bags.
Where could you belong?
Choose one primary lane and as many secondary lanes as fit. Multi-skilled camp humans are extremely welcome.
People who can hold the map while everyone else is having an adventure.

Parents remain responsible for their own children. Cabin leaders build community, not drop-off childcare.assistant cabin counsellors
Partner with a cabin lead, support check-ins, activities and transitions, and help make sure no one person is carrying the whole cabin experience.
Assigned if interest allows. A lovely first camp-leadership role.firekeeper + evening host

Baristas, café people, mixologists and charming beverage nerds, this is your tiny kingdom.Bring a real skill, a strange idea or something people will talk about on the drive home.
programs coordinator
Helps shape the activity menu, gathers supply lists, coordinates morning sign-ups and keeps workshops, games and performers moving without scheduling three excellent things in the same patch of forest.
Best for: organized creative people who can communicate with facilitators and adjust gracefully around weather.programs staff
Teachers, performers, musicians, dancers, storytellers, actors, artists, craft leaders, outdoor cooks, game makers and curious people with something joyful to share.

Current waterfront lifeguard certification is strongly preferred. Please list exact certification and expiry date.water support + kayak spotters
Supports equipment movement, launch and landing, shore spotting, participant flow and head counts under the waterfront lead’s direction.
Strong swimmers and experienced paddlers are especially useful. This is not a substitute for a certified lifeguard.first aid + first responder

Electricians, tradespeople, builders and calm fixers are treasured here.site care + washhouse crew

Best for: practical people who understand that clean bathrooms are a form of community care.crew floater
Moves where the day needs help most, covers breaks, delivers messages, supports transitions and keeps small problems small.
Best for: flexible generalists who enjoy variety and do not need a microphone to feel useful.Bunk, tent or tiny home on wheels
Crew accommodations and food are covered. Shared bunks are available, or you are welcome to sleep in your own tent, vehicle setup or camper van if Camp Pagweak approves the location and arrangement.
For confirmed crew, bringing your own setup helps the cabin math but does not create a cash payment or upgraded exchange. For regular paid campers, using a tent, vehicle or camper van does not reduce the ticket price. Regular ticket sales remain final, with transfers permitted until September 1, 2026 at 11:59pm for a $20 fee.
