BACHELOR OF YOGA EDUCATION
A neuro-psychology / trauma-informed therapeutic-touch based approach to hot yoga education
Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) with the Yoga Alliance
Established: 2019
KUUMA YOGA’S
FOUNDATIONAL PILLARS
Our school’s philosophy is rooted firmly in our foundational pillars. This course is designed to create space for you to embark on a self discovery journey to find your unique voice. We will teach you the technical skills, but it is your responsibility to do the personal work in order to peel off the layers of protection that prevent you from showing up in a position of leadership. This program is a deep-dive for students who want to advance to teaching OR for students who simply want to take their practice deeper than just a public studio class.
1 FOCUS
(Drishti): Concentrate on one thing at a time, whether it's a point in yoga or a personal conflict. This involves direct attention and meditation.
2 CREATE SPACE
(Pranayama): Use breathwork in yoga or take distance from conflict in life. This helps gain new perspectives and mental clarity.
3 STAY UNCOMFORTABLE
(Bandhas): Embrace discomfort in yoga poses or in life situations. Extend periods of discomfort to discover new insights and grow.
4 GO TO THE EDGE
(Tapas): Push limits in yoga and life. Challenge yourself beyond comfort zones, like having difficult conversations or taking on stressful situations.
5 FLOW
(Vinyasa): Achieve a state of flow where mental chatter quiets and creativity emerges. This state unites breath, movement, and thought, leading to discovery and connection with the spirit.
