Andie helps people move, feel, and rewrite their stories through the language of the body.
She is a guide, a teacher, a dancer, a storyteller, and a nervous system whisperer -
devoted to helping people return to themselves, one breath, one step, one story at a time.

Andie's yoga teaching is influenced by her time at TAYS Studio in Halifax, NS, where she studied under teachers such as Mike Munro, Maxine Jeffery, Leslie Bishop, Cléo Burke, Abra Morrison, and Andrea Andriopoulos. Andie also studies closely with Lisa Wimberger, the creator of Neurosculpting® - a 5 step Neuroplasticity meditation practice. Lisa’s work deeply influences how Andie approaches her meditation and movement practices.

Andie’s work lives at the intersection of movement, neuroscience, and conscious storytelling. She founded KUUMA Yoga, not as a place to escape life, but as a place to come home to your body, your breath, and a version of yourself that feels fully, deeply human.

Her approach is rooted in somatics and nervous system literacy, weaving together yoga, Pilates, trauma-informed education, Neurosculpting®, psychology, and the rituals that make us feel alive. Whether she’s teaching a hot class, guiding a meditation, mentoring teachers, or holding space 1:1, her intention stays the same:
to help people remember their agency, their autonomy, and their ability to author new stories in their own brains.

When Andie was 20, she lost her dad to an opioid overdose. That kind of rupture doesn’t just break your heart -
it rewires your entire worldview.

For years she carried the weight of that loss, until she discovered the power of Neurosculpting® and conscious narrative. Through these tools, she learned to reappraise the story, not to erase the pain but to reclaim her authorship.

Her healing became her offering.

KUUMA is not just a studio - it’s the continuation of that story.
A space to feel, soften, thaw, and begin again.
A space where grief and joy can coexist.
A space built by someone who knows how it feels to rebuild a life from the inside out.

A woman with long blonde hair, wearing a denim jacket and a black top, sitting against a purple background with stars.

Outside the studio, Andie is a full-colour human being:

  • Dancing Brazilian Zouk across North America

  • Travelling solo, especially Colorado, California and Mexico

  • Leading an award-winning team of teachers who care as deeply as she does

  • Running a Yoga Alliance® Yoga School online and in person

  • Building community, not just clientele

  • Integrating and processing as a daily ritual

  • Laughing loudly, dancing often, and making space for sacred stillness

Her life is equal parts discipline and joy, grit and glitter, science and soul.

Everything Andie teaches is filtered through a nervous system–aware, consent-forward lens.
She honours autonomy, boundaries, and lived experience—especially for those navigating grief, burnout, trauma, or chronic stress.

Her classes feel like:
structure without rigidity
safety without shrinking
empowerment without pressure
spirituality without bypassing

This is the heart of KUUMA’s reputation as an award-winning, trauma-informed movement studio.
